Overview

Datacenter United operates a number of facilities across Belgium and is one of the country's fastest growing colocation operators. The company was founded out of Antwerp in 2010 and focuses on providing small to medium local enterprises with colocation, connectivity and other managed IT services.

In 2020, Belgian infrastructure investment firm TINC acquired a 75% stake in the company. TINC invested further in 2022, funding Datacenter United's acquisition of colocation operator DC Star, which added 3 facilities with a total IT capacity 6.5 MW to their portfolio. In 2023, the company also acquired operator DC Hasselt, bringing their 2 facilities in the city of Hasselt into the Datacenter United ecosystem. The two acquired companies still retain their branding and operate under their own executive structures. Upon these acquisitions, Datacenter United now has a total of 9 live facilities under its strategic direction.

In 2022, Datacenter United's Antwerp facility was awarded Tier IV status by The Uptime Institute, distinguishing itself as the only data center in Belgium to receive the accreditation. The company has also began construction on a data centre in the city of Kortrijk that will serve the local market in Belgium as well as northern France. Details of the capacity and timeline associated with this new facility have not yet been shared.
