HEDNO is the electricity distribution company acting as the distribution network operator of Greece. It was established in 2011 as a result of the separation of the Distribution Department of Greece's Public Power Corporation in order to comply with the 2009/72/EC EU Directive relative to the electricity market organization.
The electricity company is owned by PPC S.A. (51%) and Macquire Asset Management (49%). However, it is operationally and administratively independent. The main responsibility of the electricity company is the operation maintenance and development of the electricity distribution network in Greece.
