OVHcloud was founded in 1999 by Polish entrepreneur Octave Klaba, who at present day remains a majority shareholder in the business. In 2004, an industrial wasteland in Roubaix, North of France, was acquired and has since hosted the company’s headquarters and first data centre campus. In 2016, a partnership was formed with global investment firms KKR and TowerBrook Capital Partners in order to expand the cloud infrastructure business. In 2021, OVHcloud completed its Initial Public Offering to be listed on Euronext and the Paris Stock Exchange, raising €400 million with an opening market capitalisation of €3.48 billion. OVHcloud’s primary offerings include private and public cloud, hosting, and dedicated servers in 140 countries, and the company positions itself as the leading provider of cloud services and as a European alternative to Microsoft, AWS and Google.
