Overview
Rogers is one of the major telecommunications groups in Canada and offers wireless and broadband networks, media services and credit card products. Rogers operates several subsidiaries, including Rogers Business that also offer colocation services from data centres located across the country. In 2023, Rogers completed it's acquisition of Shaw Communications for $15 billion, with conditions to sell Shaw's Freedom Mobile wireless business to Quebecor’s Videotron, to maintain Shaw's Calgary headquarters, and to hire and maintain the headcount of 3000 additional staff. The deal is expected to expand Rogers' market share into western Canada. Rogers is also currently undergoing a major investment to expand it's 5G and wireless network into British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
