Overview

In 1984, the SoftBank Group established Japan Telecom Telegraph, which merged with Railway Telecommunications (JR Telecom, est. 1986) and was later renamed Japan Telecom Holdings, then renamed again to SoftBank Telecom Corporation in 2006. SoftBank Telecom was then merged into SoftBank Mobile alongside several other telecommunications companies. The company was then renamed to SoftBank Corp. in 2015, while the initial SoftBank Corp was simultaneously renamed to SoftBank Group Corp.

SoftBank Corp is thus the primary operating company of SoftBank Group Corp and provides a wide range of ICT, media, and financial services to retail and enterprise clients in Japan.
