Overview
Morocco is among Africa’s top five data centre hubs, alongside South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Egypt. Morocco has vast potential for solar and wind energy, though integration into data centres is still in its early stages. The country hosts data centre hubs in Rabat, Tangier and Casablanca which is serving as the primary hub. Over the past two years, Morocco has experienced significant supply growth, similar to Egypt, driven by the entry of the Middle East. While the market is still developing compared to other hubs, it is transitioning from colocation retail to a wholesale colocation model. Cloud operators announce plans to establish a regional presence within the country.
