About the business
DC Byte is the leading provider of market data, research, and intelligence for the global data centre sector.
At the heart of an industry that quietly keeps the world connected, our technology-led platform empowers the key players designing and developing digital infrastructure to make high-stakes, multi-billion-pound investment and strategy decisions. We deliver the most accurate, real-time, and unbiased insights into colocation and self-build enterprise assets worldwide, supporting developers, investors, and operators, including the world’s largest hyperscalers. As a private company operating in a high-growth sector, DC Byte has consistently expanded its global footprint. We are now seeking a world-class Business Development Manager to help drive our next phase of international growth and innovation.
Job Summary
We’re looking for a driven and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team and play a key role in expanding our client base across the data centre industry. You’ll own the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach to closing deals while building lasting relationships with key stakeholders. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy engaging with executives, and are passionate about technology and market intelligence, this role is for you.
About You
You’re a highly motivated self-starter who’s never seen a sales target you weren’t excited to exceed.
You have spent the last couple of years building your skills owning the whole sales cycle in the data centre, research, consulting, or real estate industry. You’re now ready for the next step in your career working as an almost stand-alone sales person for a small but ambitious company!
You have no problem motivating yourself to work independently, as well as collaborate with people across our international organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage potential clients across various sectors, including data centre operators, hyperscalers, data centre suppliers, consultancies, and investment groups.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting and outreach to successfully closing deals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, focusing on ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Effectively present and demonstrate our data centre research products, reports, and subscription services.
- Collaborate closely with our marketing and research teams to ensure sales strategies are aligned with current market trends.
- Consistently meet and exceed sales targets through proactive client engagement and dedicated business development efforts.
- Maintain meticulous records in our CRM systems and provide regular, accurate sales reports and forecasts.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of sales experience, preferably within the data centre, research/consulting, or real estate sectors, or with a data centre supplier.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with executives and key decision-makers.
- A strong passion for technology, data analytics, and market intelligence.
- Highly self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to business development.
- Capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience in the data centre, cloud, or IT infrastructure industries is preferred.
- Experience using Hubspot preferred.
