Overview
Previously announced in July 2024 as Project Ludicrous with Crusoe, President Trump re-announced the project as the Stargate AI Project in January 2025. A $500 billion initiative to transform America's AI infrastructure, with founding partners OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX raising the initial $100 billion.
This site in Abilene, TX was initially planned to include 10 buildings. Phase 1, which encompasses the first two buildings, went live in the first half of 2025. Phase 2, consisting of six additional buildings, is currently under construction. The goal is to have Phase 2 operational by mid-2026.
