Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our team, specialising in data center market intelligence. This role is ideal for candidates who have experience in data collection, analysis, and relationship-building, who are keen to join a fast-growing company and small but ambitious team.
As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for the collection, accuracy, and quality of the market data DC Byte provides in 2-3 markets in the EMEA region. The role involves both data analysis and presentation, working closely with our clients as they shape their data center and investment strategies. You should also expect to travel to conferences and data center sites within your market a few times a year.
About You
You have 1-2 years of experience in the real estate or data center sector, although we welcome applications from candidates with a variety of backgrounds. We think you would most likely succeed in this role if you have worked for a real estate firm or data center operator, but if you have gained knowledge about these sectors in an adjacent role that’s also fine – for example, as a market or government researcher, in an energy company or working for a think tank.
You excel at networking and thrive in environments where relationship-building is key – ideally, you already have established connections within the data center industry. You possess strong analytical skills, with a particular emphasis on market research and data collection, and you are able to communicate complex insights clearly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection
- Conduct comprehensive market research across the data center sector, gathering relevant qualitative and quantitative data.
- Source and verify information from primary and secondary channels, including industry reports, public records, and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain accurate databases and track market developments to ensure up-to-date insights.
Market & Policy Analysis
- Analyze collected data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations summarising research findings.
- Support forecasting to inform business development and investment strategies.
- Contribute to forecasts and scenario analyzes supporting investment and development strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Networking
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships within the data center industry.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand knowledge and connections.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support data collection and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years experience in the data center sector preferred; equivalent experience in real estate, market research, civil service, energy, or think tanks considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate preferred; alternatively, International Relations, International Business, Geography, Urban Studies, or Construction Management.
- Strong networking skills, ideally with existing industry connections in the data center sector.
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, market research, and analysis (non-technical/data science).
- Proficiency in French and/or Arabic desirable, but not required.
