We’ve released a new infographic exploring how Denmark’s data centre market is being shaped by growing demand, hyperscale investment and changing grid conditions.

Rising colocation occupancy reflects Denmark’s highly digitalised economy, while self-built hyperscale facilities continue to dominate the market. At the same time, Western Denmark is emerging as a new development hub, supported by available land and power, proactive municipalities and improving subsea connectivity.

Highlights from the Infographic:

  • Denmark’s colocation occupancy rate has increased from 42% to 76%
  • Denmark ranks second in the EU for digital intensity among large enterprises
  • Self-built facilities account for 89% of Denmark’s live IT capacity—the highest proportion of any national market in EMEA
  • Google, Apple, Meta and Microsoft have established significant self-built facilities in Denmark
  • Western Denmark is attracting major projects, including Prime Data Centers’ planned 550 MW campus in Esbjerg and Varde
  • Grid applications reached 60 GW in March 2026, with data centres accounting for more than half, prompting stricter prioritisation of new connections
