The Singapore Data Centre market is one of the key regional data centre hubs in APAC.
The thriving data centre market – a position boosted by elements such as its strategic location, business and political environment, amongst others – saw a moratorium put in place in 2019.
Since then, a spillover effect has been observed on the neighbouring regions, which had high growth rates among local data centre markets.
A call for applications programme in kickstarted in 2022 signalled the end of the moratorium for the industry, with several requirements for applicants. In July 2023, results of the DC-CFA revealed that 80MW of capacity had been awarded to four winners.
